Warong Pak Sapari is known for its Mee Soto and Mee Rebus. The Sapari family has been cooking since 1973, and the stall is now in the hands of third generation hawker Sumadi Sapari. It was included in the Michelin Bib Gourmand list in 2023, which brought wider attention to two dishes that regulars have loved for years.
The Mee Soto is the one to try first. Its cloudy chicken broth is simmered with 21 ingredients, and it is served over yellow noodles or bee hoon with shredded chicken, coriander and fried shallots. Add a bergedil and a spoonful of sambal kicap for extra kick. The Mee Rebus comes with a thick, slightly sweet and spicy gravy, and you can choose toppings such as chicken cutlet or beef brisket and tendon. There are also soups and chicken porridge for a lighter bite.
Portions are generous and prices stay hawker friendly, so it suits a casual lunch, a solo meal or a quick bite with friends and family.
