Maki-San

Maki-San is a fast casual Japanese spot built around one big idea: you design the meal. Since 2012, it has run a DIY concept where diners pick their wrap, rice, fillings, sprinkles and sauce to create a fully personalised sushi roll or salad bowl, with over 70 ingredients to mix and match. 

Not in the mood to build your own? The menu also has ready made house sushi rolls like California Dreaming and Salmon Says, hearty house salads such as Gone Fishing and Yakiniku Firewoku, and specialty items like the Mayo Bonito Burger, a rice bun burger stacked with a plant based patty, crispy tempura rice patties and umami bonito flakes. Wraps range from classic nori seaweed to soy paper or egg crepe, and rice can be swapped for a healthier brown rice option. It works well for a quick solo lunch, a casual meal with friends, or a family outing where everyone gets to customise their own plate.
