NEX Mall

Nex is a large suburban shopping mall in Serangoon, integrated directly with Serangoon MRT station and the Serangoon Bus Interchange. Opened in 2011 and owned by Frasers Centrepoint Trust, it is the largest mall in North-East Singapore, spanning seven storeys and serving as a key retail and transport node for residents across the Serangoon, Hougang and Ang Mo Kio area.

As an MRT-linked mall, Nex is highly accessible, with direct underground access from the station concourse and extensive bus connections through the interchange below. This makes it a convenient stop for Muslims travelling around the north-east region, whether passing through or making a dedicated trip.

There is no official musollah within Nex itself, though an unofficial prayer space has been set up by visitors on one of the upper floors, near the public library. Muslims looking for a full mosque can head to Masjid Alkaff Upper Serangoon on Pheng Geck Avenue, or Masjid Haji Yusoff off Upper Serangoon Road, both a short ride away.

The mall also houses the Serangoon Public Library and a rooftop SkyGarden with a children's play area, useful if travelling with family.

Given its size and transport links, Nex is a practical base for exploring halal food options in the Serangoon area. Read on for the list of halal eateries available at this location.
